Alivia and Robert are the second set of twins that I have had the honor of photographing. Newborns can be a little tougher then a typical Family Portrait. There is no such thing as bribing a newborn with toys or sugary treats; you just have to roll with the punches. Some newborn session can take an hour while others can take three. It really depends on how they are feeling that day. These two cuties came into my studio which can sometimes but them out of sorts. Sounds, smells, and the energy in the room are different then their home. So sometimes I bring the studio to them. Parents can get a bit stressed when their little munchkins decide they want to be awake, fully clothed and crying. That does not mean the session is ruined. As long as everyone stays calm we can get some great shots where you don’t even realize they were crying and awake. Little tricks are keeping the room warm, using a sound machine or even hair dryer to sooth them and feeding them when you get to the studio. Milk coma is a great tool! Having a newborn no older then 10 days old also helps with the session.
